  • EMMA DOUKA

Emma discovered Pilates during her university years while struggling with persistent back and neck pain. Her journey of rehabilitation through thoughtful movement led her to train with the UK Pilates Foundation and Anne-Marie Zulkahary, and she has been teaching full-time time since 2010.

In 2018, Emma qualified as a Feldenkrais Practitioner and has since incorporated both methods into her daily classes. Her teaching approach is based on the belief that the body is a whole, including the brain and nervous system, and she aims to help her clients sense and understand their bodies, move efficiently, and gain strength.

Apart from teaching and studying movement, Emma enjoys the outdoors, particularly running with her dog and cycling up long and steep hills.

She is qualified in Body Control Pilates and comprehensive Pilates with Gordon Thomson and has been teaching Pilates for the past 20 years. Federica is passionate about creating a supportive environment where students can feel at ease while working towards their personal goals, guiding them to achieve their best.

Her group classes are based on classical Pilates, with an emphasis on alignment, flowing movement and precision. She also incorporates a more contemporary Pilates approach by adding a cardiovascular component to the sessions.

Federica enjoys seeing her classes progress into a setting where clients feel both safe and supported through alignment corrections in slower movements, while also being energised enough to feel the burn. When she’s not practising Pilates, Federica enjoys walking and spending time in nature, as well as photography and going to the cinema.
