Welcome to HOME WELLNESS

WITH DONNA FARHI
With increasing demands on our time and energy, how can we make our Yoga practice a time that brings us into a state of physical ease, mental calm and emotional stability? Donna will be offering simple, effective and inventive approaches to well-being, whether giving your feet some tender loving care or learning how to guide yourself into deep relaxation. Each intensive is inclusive, but they are also designed to build cumulatively should you wish to come to all five days.

FROM THE GROUND UP: FINDING YOUR FEET

FRIDAY 15TH MAY
10.00AM – 12.30PM & 2.00PM – 4.00PM

£135

We do not usually think about our feet until they give us trouble. Yet, a strong, balanced and flexible foot is the foundation for the kinetic chain into our legs, pelvis and spine. In this one-day clinic we’ll explore inventive ways to improve foot function, balance and our capacity to walk with ease. Did you know that a shortened stride is a strong predictor of a clinical event such as falling? In the afternoon, we’ll use our yoga practice to mobilise our hips, increase torso rotation for the swing of our arms, and get the groove back into our gait.

Yoga practitioners of all levels of experience are welcome to attend.

THE STRENGTH OF YIELDING

SATURDAY 16TH MAY
10.00AM – 12.30PM & 2.00PM – 4.00PM

£135

We usually think of the nervous system as having two sides: the parasympathetic supporting relaxation and regeneration and the sympathetic supporting our fight, flight or freeze reaction. How would it feel to live in a more balanced expression in the middle ground of the nervous system in a state of alertness, attentiveness and readiness for action? In this one-day clinic, we’ll explore the dynamics of yielding; a relationship to the ground, gravity and space that is self-renewing, efficient and easeful. The morning class will be active, and the afternoon class will be devoted to Restorative Yoga practice followed by Yoga Nidra.

Yoga practitioners of all levels of experience are welcome to attend.

BUILDING RESILIENCE: THE TAP ROOT THAT IS PRACTICE

SUNDAY 17TH MAY
10.00AM – 12.30PM & 2.00PM – 4.00PM

£135

Yoga practice can be an inner oasis that quenches our need for self-nourishment and in doing so lays a groundwork for regeneration. The world as we know it has changed irrevocably in ways that none of us could have imagined and few of us could have prepared for. Yet, with these changes also lay opportunities to imagine for ourselves a different way of being in the world that helps us to adapt and respond intelligently to these new demands. Our ability to be truly resilient relies not only on fitness but also requires that we be deeply rested and in a state of relaxed attentiveness. This day will offer opportunities for revitalisation, deep rest, and replenishment using both ancient and contemporary yoga practices.

Yoga practitioners of all levels of experience are welcome to attend.

YOGA FOR LOWER BACK PAIN: KEYS TO SACROILIAC STABILITY AND EASE OF MOVEMENT

MONDAY 18TH MAY
10.00AM – 12.30PM & 2.00PM – 4.00PM

£135

Are you a member of the rapidly growing SIJ club (or do many of your students present with tender, niggling sacroiliac discomfort?). Through understanding the structure of your sacroiliac joints and their relationship to your hips and spine, you can begin to practice more intelligently, both ameliorating existing issues and reestablishing pelvic integrity. Our day will include two in-depth anatomical PowerPoint discussions and both somatic and therapeutic yoga practice that are gentle, effective and accessible for people of all ages.

Yoga practitioners of all levels of experience are welcome to attend.

UPRIGHT & TENSION FREE

TUESDAY 19TH MAY
10.00AM – 12.30PM & 2.00PM – 4.00PM

£135

Establishing and maintaining lifelong erect posture requires us to engage and strengthen the muscles of the back body, while opening and releasing the front body. A strong emphasis of these two classes will be balancing passive back bending and twisting with active, strengthening extension. We’ll explore creative and fun ways to build up spinal strength which can integrated into everyday practice leading to long-term resolution of upper back, neck and shoulder tension. As we become stronger and longer, this erect posture becomes self-renewing and less effortful.

Yoga practitioners of all levels of experience are welcome to attend.

“What a treat it was to spend time studying in person with Donna. It’s such a privilege to learn these practices from someone who lives them and is clearly refining them all the time. I’m leaving with a wealth of material to nourish my personal practice and which, in time, I look forward to sharing with others.”
– Maria Dineen

“Donna’s work is singular, masterful, and reflective of decades of study and self-exploration. It is this that impacts my body so immediately and so deeply. After more than 50 years of working with my own challenges and others’, this is uniquely the teacher I return to at a time in my life when I no longer take classes. It is here that I feel trust. It is here that I feel license.”
– Diana Tokaji, C-IAYT, MSC

“After this workshop I feel nourished and well equipped.  Donna created a safe space for us all. Her guidance was an invitation to explore and to experiment. She made it clear that there is no one algorithm for yoga practice. I love this!”
– Gosia, Poland

“For these two days I have been in the presence of one of the most knowledgable teachers today – Donna teaches to the modern human by weaving in the ancient teachings of Yoga, body work acquired through experience and her own rehabilitation, and the deep understanding of what every human faces in today’s world. . . Donna is so likeable, so real, and offers content in a way that is relevant.  You know that you will be receiving current knowledge steeped in her own curiosity and appetite for what works.  I am very grateful to have come.”
